U.S. airlines ramp up hiring plans — testimony -Breaking

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Major U.S. airlines are expected to tell a Senate panel Wednesday that they have increased their hiring despite some concerns over a COVID-19 variation on demand. This testimony was seen by Reuters.

Robin Hayes, Chief Executive of JetBlue will testify in writing that the airline has plans to hire 4550 more employees

Crew members for 2021, and an additional 5,400 in 2022. Alaska Air (NYSE:) Ben Minicucci, Group Chief Executive of the Company stated in testimony that it intends to employ more than 3000 people.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE 🙂 John Laughter, Chief of Operations at Delta Air Lines (NYSE :), testified that Delta is currently hiring over 6,100 Airport Customer Services Agents as well as more than 600 Pilots. According to Laughter, the airline has “prepared for, an uneven, slow recovery while the virus is being contained.” Further uncertainty has been created by the Omicron variant, which is not yet clear.

International and business travel are both coming back.”
