REUTERS/Brendan McDermiWASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Amtrak, the U.S. passenger rail company said Tuesday that it would temporarily suspend a mandate to immunize employees. It also stated that they no longer anticipate being forced to reduce some services in January.
Amtrak stated in a memo that it will allow those who are not vaccinated to be tested.
Amtrak currently has fewer than 500 employees who aren’t in compliance. Because of this mandate, the railroad indicated to Congress that it would “proactively have to temporarily decrease some train frequencies across the network”.
