FT names Elon Musk as its ‘Person of the Year’ -Breaking

(Reuters) -The Financial Times has named Elon Musk (NASDAQ:) Inc) its Person of the Year, following Time magazine’s lead, and commends him for his work in transforming electric vehicles.
Tesla, the global EV market leader has compelled many younger consumers and traditional automakers to focus on electric vehicles.
Roula Khalaf of the FT credited Musk in proving that EVs were capable of replacing gasoline-powered vehicles and called him a revolutionary in the sector.
Tesla is currently worth more than the combined market capitalizations of Ford Motor (NYSE) and General Motors.
Musk said in an interview that “for a long period, the rest of and auto industry was basically calling Tesla & me fools and fraudulents.”

Musk, who has over 66 million Twitter followers (NYSE:) and hosted the NBC sketch comedy program “Saturday Night Live”, as well as dropping tweets about cryptocurrencies and me stocks which have triggered huge movements in their values, dominates headlines.
He is a business figure who has been transforming the world for decades, even though his tweets are sometimes childish and provocative. Khalaf said that FT has named him Person of the Year in 2021.
