PARIS, (Reuters) – Airbus has announced a trio of quick wins in aircraft orders at Boeing (NYSE:), on Thursday. The deal will supply Air France KLM with all or part of a large number of narrow-body jets.

Sources say Airbus received an order for A321 single aisle aircraft from Dutch subsidiary KLM. It confirms a Reuters advantage and will allow Airbus to secure at least one Transavia budget unit.

Both planemakers declined to comment.

Air France KLM (whose KLM/Transavia units depend on Boeing for narrowbody medium haul jets) was unavailable for comment immediately.

Air France-KLM will announce the results of this eagerly anticipated contest late on Thursday. This is just hours after Airbus took a contract to provide two tranches to Qantas Australia, a loss for Boeing.

European’s second largest airline in terms of fleet size saw gains, with shares up 3.3% during afternoon trading

Franco-Dutch launched a tender in January to extend and renew medium-haul Boeing 737s at KLM as well as Transavia’s French- and Dutch operations.

According to it, the agreement could see a purchase of 80 aircraft and options to buy another 60-60-80. This would make the transaction the largest single fleet deal in the group’s history.

According to industry sources, Airbus has been influenced by a gradual improvement in relations between the French and Dutch wings of its airline group. This is in addition to tensions over recent Boeing 787 delays.

Airbus’s Air France-KLM agreement continues its buoyant week after Singapore Airlines, (OTC:), backed its attempts to shake Boeing’s hold on the cargo plane market with an order for seven A350 freighters.
