Amazon elevates former Prime boss Neil Lindsay to run health efforts

AmazonFormer Prime boss of the company has been appointed to oversee its health initiatives.

His last month promotion to Senior Vice President of Health and Brand within Amazon’s Worldwide Consumer Business was Neil Lindsay. LinkedIn profilePeople familiar with the movement.

According to someone familiar with the matter, Lindsay now oversees Amazon’s health care operations, which include its online pharmacy and telehealth, as well as health diagnostics units. This person who was not authorized to speak on company business matters said that he is still responsible for Amazon’s marketing and global brands.

Over his 11-year tenure at Amazon, Lindsay held a variety of roles including leading the Prime subscription company and overseeing global marketing. Along with Fire and Echo, he helped to shape branding for Amazon’s most popular devices such as the Kindle ereader.

Lindsay is a member of the “Steam,” an influential group that reports to Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

Amazon has hired Lindsay as its Health Director to expand its reach in the industry of health care. Last year, the company launched Amazon PharmacyThis website, which aims to make ordering prescriptions easier online, was developed by 2018 acquisition of PillPack.

Amazon does not break down things such as prescription sales and the number of Halo products it has sold.
