Kazakhstan’s central bank reports results on CBDC pilot project -Breaking

The country of Kazakhstan is one of the most important sources of mining haveh power. It has now released the results from a pilot program to develop its digital tenge.

A Wednesday report by the National Bank of Kazakhstan (or NBK) states that it has received a significant increase in interest from customers. The central bank confirmed the feasibility of creating a digital currency that can be used by retail banks. This would use distributed ledger technology. In addition, the central bank tested how Kazakhstan’s citizens might use a digital tenge for offline payments as well as its programmability.
