(Reuters) -Kellogg Co reached an agreement with the union that represents its striking workers at U.S. breakfast cereal plant plants. This was days after workers rejected a previous offer.

We have come to an agreement with Kellogg (NYSE): Meetings will take place tomorrow, with voting taking place on Sunday. The Tuesday count will determine which votes are valid. We would resume work in December 27th if the ratification is approved,” stated Dan Osborn of Omaha’s local union.

In a statement, the union stated that some progress was made in key areas of the Dec. 1 agreement. These included cost-of-living wage adjustments for all employees as well as the elimination of the term “legacy worker”.

Kellogg didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.

About 1,400 workers from company have been striking since October 5, when their contracts ended. Negotiations over benefits and payment were halted due to disagreements between the union, the package foods manufacturer and the union.
