SAN JOSE CA (Reuters) – Elizabeth Holmes’ defense attorney presented his last argument to jurors Friday. Holmes claimed that the Theranos founder and CEO was “dedicated to her mission” at blood-testing startup Blood-testing Startup. Holmes did not commit fraud.

Attorney Kevin Downey stated that Holmes wasn’t motivated by cash at Theranos as the trial was nearing its conclusion. Instead, she believed she was building a technology to change the world.

Downey explained that Holmes did not leave because she was aware of the fact that crooks will cash out at the first signs of trouble. She went with the ship down when it fell.

Holmes, according to the prosecution, lied about Theranos machine capabilities and accuracy. Holmes is facing nine fraud charges and two conspiracy counts.

Theranos, once valued at $9billion, collapsed in 2015 after The Wall Street Journal published series of articles starting in 2015. These articles suggested that its devices could be flawed or inaccurate.

Jurors may hear the rebuttal arguments of a prosecutor as well as legal instructions from the judge. Deliberations in this case can begin as early as Friday afternoon.
