Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index declined 1.53% at the NSE close, and the Dow fell 1.54%.

They were the top performers at the session Wipro Ltd (NS): The stock rose by 4.11%, or 26.50 points, to close at 670.80. Meanwhile, Infosys Ltd (NS) was up 2.78%, or 49.25 point to reach 1820.85 HCL Technologies In late trade, Ltd (NSS:) was up by 1.00% or 11.65 point to 1171.40

They were also the worst performers of the session. IndusInd Bank Ltd., which dropped 4.88% (or 45.30 points) to trade at $883.00 at close. Tata Motors Ltd (NS.) fell 4.42%, or 21.75 point to close at 470.20. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS.) dropped 4.09%, or 5.95 to 139.40.

Infosys Ltd. rose 2.84%, to 1821.70. HCL Technologies Ltd. was up 0.96%, to settle at 1171.60. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. gained 0.82%, to close at 209.95.

IndusInd Bank Ltd., (BO) was the worst performer. It fell 4.89% to $883.25 late trade. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. was also down (BO) to settle at 1794.35. Hindustan Unilever Ltd. was down 3.3% to 2230.40 by close.

By 1463, 336, and 23, falling stocks outnumbered advancing stock on the India National Stock Exchange. However, 23 ended unchanged on the Bombay Stock Exchange. 2217 declined and 1027 advanced on that exchange, while 95 ended unchanged.

Informationsys Ltd. (BO:), shares rose to new highs, up 2.84%. This is 50.30 to 18.21.70.

The February delivery of Gold Futures was higher by 0.59%, or 10.55, to $1808.75 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 2.2% or 1.46 in January to reach $70.92/barrel, and February Brent oil, which fell 1.76 or 1.47 in February to trade at $73.55/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.19%, to 76.012; EUR/INR dropped 0.14% at 86.1465.

At 96.010, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.01%.
