STALKER SETS INTO NFT

STALKER 2 was one of Spring’s most talked about Xbox players. They announced on 15 December 2021 that they would be incorporating the game in NFTs. This is a strategic decision by Ubisoft, Peter Molyneux, and other gaming companies that have followed the same path.

Notable to be mentioned is that STALKER 2 is the latest entry in an illegible series of horror shooters. The original announcement was made in 2010, but it was cancelled twice. After it was announced again in 2010, it was cancelled twice more. In 2018, it returned to the market and it finally became stable. GSC, the STALKER 2 developer, went on to display long versions of this game in stunning trailers.

GSC is offering the opportunity to scan the face of a player into that of a non-player in an auction to help them morph into the blockchain and metaverse. This would make it the first ever ‘Metaman. The adoption of blockchain technology into video games is a goal that many game companies have recently seen. The DMarket will be the home for STALKER 2, NFT.

The potential environmental impacts of cryptocurrencies should be mentioned. According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), cryptocurrency uses “massive energy.” In March 2021, an article stated that “mining could consume the same amount of energy as all data centers around the globe combined.” Although the GSC has not yet commented on their stance, they stressed that this will not mean an undue benefit to any other players.
