Earthquake hits northern Italy, no injuries reported -Breaking

ROME (Reuters/Also Reuters) -The Italian Geophysics and Volcanology Institute(INGV) reported that a magnitude 4.4 earthquake hit Northern Italy on Saturday. No immediate reports have been received about any injuries or damage.

According to the INGV, the quake occurred near Bonate Sotto in a little town just outside of Bergamo at a depth 26 kilometres (16 mile). The quake was felt strongly by the residents of Milan, second in size.

The fire brigade reported that they had not received any calls or damage reports within thirty minutes of the earthquake’s impact.

An earlier quake measuring magnitude 5.4 struck parts of southern Greece on Saturday. The centre of the quake was in the ocean between Crete Island and Peloponnese, according to the Athens Geodynamic Institute. No immediate injuries or damage were reported.
