LONDON, (Reuters) – David Frost, Britain’s Brexit minister, has resigned following disillusionment in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government. The Mail on Sunday reported that Frost was unhappy with the impositions of additional COVID and tax hikes.

According to the newspaper, “Frost has sensationally resigned form Boris Johnson’s Government.”

Downing Street didn’t immediately reply to our requests for comment.

According to the newspaper, Frost left because of the addition of COVID measures. This included COVID passes.

Johnson was already warned by his own legislators that his most important Brexit negotiator will be leaving.

Johnson claimed Friday that he has taken personal responsibility in the defeat of Conservative strongholds. The election result was marred by public dismay at a series of scandals, and intensified pressure from mutinous legislators.

Frost, who is an advocate of Brexit, led London’s attempts to negotiate the terms of Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

“Lord Frost submitted his resignation last week – but was persuaded that he would stay until January,” said the newspaper on Twitter (NYSE:).
