Elise Swopes earned over $200,000 selling her artwork as NFTs in just 10 months.

Following her March 1st sale, she was sold again. over $17,600She thought that her life was going to be different. Since then, it’s been a blessing in disguise. I’ve had many opportunities through it.”

Brooklyn-based graphic designer and photographer, Lisa is listed her work on NFT Marketplaces like SuperRareAnd Nifty Gateway. These animations are of the cityscapes she has photographed. She often adds digital elements to her photos that depict nature.

She was, for example, the first to be able to use her new device. Nifty Gateway collectionSwopes has created many works that combine her photos of New York City, Portland, Los Angeles and Chicago with photographs of giraffes or other elements from the jungle. Swopes gave a percentage of the proceeds from her collection to the Somali Giraffe project in honor of the giraffes she had photographed.

Swopes is paid a 10%- 15% royalty as her work is resold.

Swopes spends a lot of her earnings on her managers, as well as other bills. She also gives to charities and purchases NFTs for other artists, according to her.

Indeed, Bloomberg reported that female artists accounted for just 5% of all NFT art sales in that time frame, citing a November report by research firm ArtTactic. 

Swopes says that when she speaks out online about diversity and inclusion, it doesn’t always get the most support from everyone.

It is uncomfortable for them to be uncomfortable. They hold themselves accountable regarding wealth distribution and how many people make it. “So, as a woman of color, and a woman with a different perspective, I feel a lot of responsibility,” she said.

According to her, many in the area lack awareness and are making “really alarming” jokes.

Swopes states, “I hope people continue to invest in my art”

After joining Instagram in 2010, Swopes’ brand and art careers took off. In how she feels on Instagram, and in her current NFT role, there are many similarities.

This is similar to what I saw on Instagram. I feel like I need to represent many things. “I found that I was back in that same situation, and just made sure to support Black women, minority, and in the future.” [NFT] community.”

Swopes says she plans to start a group called the Sunrise Art Club next year. It will provide support for women of color via various programs and events, as well as funding NFT projects.

There are many Black women in NFT right now, doing some really amazing things. Our community building skills are amazing, so I’m hopeful that the money will go to better places. [the community]Swopes said, “Given us a seat in the table.”
