NEW YORK – Bank of America Corp. (NYSE:), told New York-based workers on Monday that they might work from home over the holiday season. It is now the latest financial institution to alter plans due to the Omicron coronavirus spreading.

As the virus continues to spread, a number of financial companies have made adjustments in their plans. Citigroup Inc (NYSE:), Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:), Carlyle Group (NASDAQ:) Inc. Blackstone (NYSE 🙂 and MetLife(NYSE :).

In addition, JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:) on Friday sent a memo to employees encouraging work teams to assess “on a more regular basis” who needs to come into the office and “who should revert to working from home.”

JPMorgan suggested to teams that they postpone events related to eating or drinking due the difficulties of wearing masks.

According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO), the Omicron virus spreads faster than the Delta version and causes infections in those who are already vaccinated.
