COPENHAGEN, Reuters – Novo Nordisk’s (NYSE:), shares dropped 16% Monday following a late Friday announcement by the Danish drugmaker that it would not be able meet the demand for the new weight loss drug. This was due to supply problems in the United States.

In a stock release, the Danish drugmaker stated that after problems with manufacturing practices and deliveries of Wegovy drugs to contract manufacturers, a manufacturer who was filling syringes with pens for its Wegovy drug temporarily stopped production.
