U.S. securities regulator charges Chicago medical professor with insider trading -Breaking

© Reuters. REUTERS/Jonathan ErnstWASHINGTON (Reuters) – On Monday, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission accused a Chicago-based medical school professor of insider trading in securities belonging to biotechnology company Five Prime Therapeutics.
SEC claimed that Daniel V.T. Catenacci bought shares in the biotechnology firm ahead of an October 10, 2020 announcement that positive trial results had been obtained for a new cancer drug. Catenacci is alleged to have obtained nonpublic material about positive drug trials through his role of lead clinical investigator.
Catenacci was not available for comment immediately.
