Motorola Solutions, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., delivers mission-critical communications worldwide and provides analytics. It operates two distinct segments, products and system integration and service; and software. MSI, Inc., announced on December 16 that it had acquired 911 Datamaster, Inc., which is a provider of next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) data solutions. The acquisition is expected to enhance MSI’s organizational workflows and reinforce its commitment to being a leader in command center solutions. MSI shares gained 50.3% in the last year, and 50.5% over the year to reach $255.90 at its most recent trading session. Stock is currently trading higher than its 200-day and 50-day moving averages. This stock has a median price target at $285.88, which indicates an 11.7% upside potential from its closing price.

“With 911 Datamaster’s technology, we continue to enhance our integrated command center software suite that is trusted by agencies across North America to manage their operations with greater efficiency, accuracy, and safety,” said Mahesh Saptharishi, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Motorola Solutions. That same day, the stock also reached its 52 week high of $266.86. Envysion, Inc., an industry leader in business analytics and enterprise video security, was acquired by the company in November.

MSI achieved double-digit earnings and revenue growth during its most recent quarter, even though it faced several cost and supply chain challenges. The company also reported strong demand and a stable backlog. MSI’s record $11.4 Billion backlog was reported, an increase of 7% over the previous-year quarter. This is primarily due to a 24% growth in its products and systems integration segment backlog. Strong LMR demand drove the growth. MSI expects its customers to continue to demand its products for the rest of 2021.
