U.S. believes bilateral engagement with Russia will take place in January

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – Washington thinks that bilateral engagement will occur with Russia in January. The statement was made by the top diplomat of the U.S. State Department for Europe on Tuesday. It comes amid increased tensions due to a Russian troop buildup close to its Ukrainian border.

Karen Donfried (Assistant Secretary of State, European and Eurasian Affairs), told journalists in a telephone briefing that Russia would set a particular date to commence talks to reduce tensions.
