U.S. files action to return $150 Million in alleged embezzled funds to Sony -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – On Monday, the United States filed a civil forfeiture claim to get back more than $154 Million in money that was allegedly stolen from a Tokyo-based subsidiary. Sony Corp (T:) and then seized by law enforcement during the FBI’s investigation of the theft, the U.S. Justice Department said.
Rei Shiii was a Tokyo employee of Sony (NYSE) Life Insurance Company Ltd. The department stated in a statement that Rei stole the property in May. He then converted it to over 3,879 Bitcoins worth today more than $180 millions.
According to the FBI investigation it stated that law enforcement took these funds into custody on Dec. 1.
According to the Southern District of California complaint, Ishii is accused of falsifying transaction instructions. This caused the funds to transfer to an account that he owned at La Jolla Bank, California.
All Bitcoins that could be traced back to the theft were recovered and preserved. The Justice Department stated that Ishii was criminally charged in Japan.
