FAA issues safety directive for some Boeing 777-200 engines -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday issued directives requiring inspections and strengthening a key engine part on Boeing (NYSE:) 777-200 planes equipped with Pratt & Whitney (PW) engines.

After a United Airlines PW4000 engine exploded shortly after takeoff on February 20, it was causing debris to fall over several nearby areas. However, no injuries were sustained and the plane returned safely to Denver.
