India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 1.10% -Breaking

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The NSE closed with an additional 1.10% and the index adding 1.09%.

These were the best performers of the session Hindalco Industries Ltd., which rose by 4.02% (or 17.90 points) to close at 463.35 Meanwhile, Tata Motors Ltd (NS.:) added 3.3% (16.90 points) to finish at 470.50. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(NS.) was up 3.58%/157.80 points until 4563.50.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (NS) were the session’s worst performers. They fell by 1.01%, or 2.05 points, to trade at 201.55. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NS:), fell by 0.96% (10.95 points) to finish at 1124.30 Wipro Ltd (NS:) fell 0.75%, or 5.15 points, to 685.65.

Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) rose 2.94% at 6773.00 and Bharti Airtel Ltd. (BO) was up 2.67% at 684.85, while Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO) gained 2.42% at close at 797.10.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(BO:), which fell 1.03% at 201.55 in the late trade, Wipro Ltd. (“BO:”) which dropped 0.77% at 685.40, and ITC Ltd. [BO:] which declined 0.24% at 212.05 at closing.

On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1400, 393 and 22, respectively. 22 was left unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 2352 rise and 887 fall, and 103 remained unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was lower by 5.46%, to 16.5800.

For February delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.16% to $1791.65 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 0.27 or 0.38% to $71.39 per barrel in February, while March Brent oil contracts rose 0.22 or 0.16 for $74.12 per barrel.

USD/INR decreased by 0.24%, to 75.509; EUR/INR fell 0.1% to 85.3070.

At 96.360, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.13%.
