© Reuters U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.55%Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
The index rose 0.55% at the close of NYSE. It gained 0.62% and climbed 0.85%.
These were the best performers of the session Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) traded at 206.20 after the close, up 2.00% or 4.05 point. Dow Inc (NYSE) gained 1.68%, or 0.91 points, to close at 55.14. Honeywell International Inc was also up 1.67%, or 3.38 points, to close at 205.22.
They were also the session’s worst performers Visa Inc The Class A (NYSE 🙂 fell 0.61%, or 1.34 points, to close at 216.62. Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:) declined 0.56% or 0.43 points to end at 75.73 and Walmart Inc (NYSE:) was down 0.22% or 0.31 points to 139.49.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 5.76% to 1067.00, ViacomCBS Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 4.80% to settle at 30.58 and Micron Technology Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 4.52% to close at 94.42.
Coterra Energy Inc (NYSE :), which fell 1.82% to 19.39 late trade was the worst performer. Hologic Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 1.42% to settle in at 76.12 Pfizer Inc (NYSE 🙂 was at its lowest point of the day, falling 1.41% and closing at 58.71
22nd Century Group Inc. rose 38.64%, to 3.050. Oncology Institute Inc. was up 38.46% and settled at 10.44. Pasithea Therapeutics Corp (NASDAQ:), which saw a 36.73% increase to close at 2.01.
They were among the most disappointing. InnovAge Holding Corp (NASDAQ:) which was down 35.64% to 5.31 in late trade, Jupiter Wellness Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 24.89% to settle at 0.954 and American Virtual Cloud Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 24.00% to 1.900 at the close.
The New York Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining ones by 2289 to 971; 126 closed unchanged. On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange 2679 rose while 1163 fell, while 181 ended unchanged.
InnovAge Holding Corp’s shares fell to their lowest levels ever, falling 35.64% (or 2.94 to 5.31). Shares in Jupiter Wellness Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 24.89% or 0.316 to 0.954.
