With this in mind I’ll be analyzing and comparing two fintech companies: PayPal Holdings NASDAQ: and Affirm Holdings AFRM to determine which is the best investment. Market Data Forecast estimates that the world’s fintech market will reach $324 Billion by 2020, with a growth rate of 23.4% in the five-year period.

However, year to date (YTD), fintech has underperformed overall due to increasing regulations in the industry and other industry-specific challenges. The 9.23% decline in Global X FinTech thematic ETF, (FINX) is a clear indication of this.

This article will compare and analyze two fintech stocks, PayPal Holdings, Inc., (PYPL), and Affirm Holdings, Inc., (AFRM). Affirm operates as a financial technology company that offers a state-of-the-art “buy now, pay later” lending platform for e-commerce transactions. PayPal is the world’s largest electronic debit payment system that allows customers send and receive money, pay bills and purchase and to make purchases. YTD shares of PYPL have fallen 18% while AFRM stocks have increased by 0.5%.
