Iran’s war games in Gulf were warning to Israel

(Reuters] – Iran conducted war games this week in the Gulf to alert Israel amid fears over potential Israeli plans to attack Iranian nuclear sites.

Friday saw the end of Revolutionary Guards war games that included cruise and ballistic missile firings.

The Guards chief General Hossein Salami declared on state TV that “these exercises conveyed a clear message: a serious and real warning to Zionist regime officials to beware their mistakes.”

If they make an error, we will make them pay… Salami explained that there is no difference between actual military operations and military drills.

Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Armed Forces stated that 16 different types of ballistic missiles were fired at the same time and destroyed targets.

Iran claims its ballistic missiles can reach Israel and U.S. military bases within the area.

Israel has been threatening military action against world powers that try to revive Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal. Iran claims its nuclear ambitions have been peaceful.

Benny Gantz, Israeli Defense Minister, has urged the world to stop Iran from playing for time in nuclear negotiations. The talks are currently at recess due to Iran’s request. They will resume on Monday.

Widely believed, Israel is the only Middle Eastern country to possess a nuclear weapons program.
