(Reuters) – A vulgar anti-Biden phrase made an awkward moment during Friday’s President Joe Biden phone call with children following Santa’s flight. The father said “Let’s Go Brandon!”

This refrain is a simplified version of “Fuck Joe Biden” and has made the internet a sensation ever since Brandon Brown (a television journalist) told Brandon Brown about a NASCAR crowd who was shouting out vulgarities. He said, “Let’s go Brandon.”

Biden and his wife Jill Biden were taking calls into the North American Aerospace Defense Command Santa Tracker, which follows the progress of Santa’s reindeer-guided sleigh for millions of children.

A parent named Jared made one phone call and said “Merry Christmas” and “Let’s go Brandon.”

Biden replied, “Let’s Go Brandon, I Agree,” before asking Jared where he was from. The call had been disconnected at that point.

It was unclear what the caller wanted, why Biden used the slogan, and whether the source of the phrase were known to either Biden or not.

The White House didn’t respond to inquiries for comment. Jared’s name and contact information are not yet available.

This slogan is now very popular with Trump’s supporters. He caused quite a stir during his 2018 Christmas Eve call with kids.

Trump asked Collman Lloyd (7 years old) from South Carolina whether she believed Santa Clause “because at seven, it’s only marginal.” Lloyd revealed to the media later that she had indeed believed in Santa, but was unsure what “marginal” meant.

Brandon Brown has voiced dissatisfaction over the use of his name in anti-Biden propaganda.

He recently stated to The New York Times, “I don’t want be the substitute for cuss words.”
