At least six killed in east Congo suicide bombing -Breaking

BENI (Reuters). A suicide bomber attacked a Beni restaurant on Saturday killing at least five and wounding himself.
This attack is the latest in an ongoing campaign of violence against Islamists by Congolese forces and Ugandan troops.
Mayor Narcisse Kashale said that six people were killed by the blast, which also included the bomber.
Patrick Muyaya (NYSE: Congo) stated that the explosion was indeed caused by suicide bomber and that security forces were looking into the matter.
No immediate claim of liability was made.
Congo and Uganda, a neighbouring country launched a military campaign against the Allied Democratic Forces of (ADF) in the area towards the end November. The group was aligned to Islamic State. Officials previously blamed the group in bombings throughout the region.
Narcisse Muteba Kazhale, Beni’s mayor, earlier said that there had been a blast in the centre of Beni. Mayor Narcisse Muteba Kashale stated that he asked the people to return home for safety.
A Reuters journalist near by said he heard a blast around 7 p.m. Just after an afternoon Catholic Mass, close to the main street, and then gunshots.
Nasson Murara of the police spokeswoman said that live rounds were used by officers to disperse the crowd who attempted to prevent investigators access to the accident scene. According to him, no one was seriously hurt.
Photos shared via social media revealed a multitude of green chairs spread across the road. Some were melted and others smoldering. The wreckage contained at least four bodies including one small girl.
Reuters was unable to verify immediately the authenticity of these images.
A combined Congolese/Ugandan operation was launched on Nov. 30 to target ADF camps in four locations, two in the Beni, according to a Ugandan general.
Two explosions at a Catholic Church and at an intersection in Beni, June caused Beni to be rocked. The second explosion killed the bomber suspect, but no other person was injured.
