In Osaka, the Nikkei futures contract was 28,670. Nikkei 225’sLast Close at 28782.59.

China’s November industrial profit data will be released at 9:30 a.m. HK/SIN.

For the Christmas holiday, major markets across Asia-Pacific like Australia and Hong Kong will be closed.

The U.S. dollar indexAfter recently falling from 96.3 to 96.117,, which measures the greenback in relation to a basket of peers, stood at 96.117.

The Japanese yenThe dollar traded at 114.37 dollars, which is weaker than the levels of 114 last week. The Australian dollarThe price was 0.7233, up from $0.72 the week before.
