NAIROBI (Reuters – The United States stated that the attempted suspension by Somalian Prime Minster Mohammed Hussein Roble was alarming, and it supported Roble’s efforts to hold credible and speedy elections.

Late Monday, U.S. State Department African Affairs Bureau tweeted that it is also available to assist those who are hindering Somalia’s journey to peace.

Monday’s announcement by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed that Roble had been suspended for suspicion of corruption was a coup attempt. This escalated the power struggle between these two leaders.
