Vuzix Gets Follow-On Smart Glasses Order -Breaking

Investing.com — Vuzix Corp, a smart glasses and augmented reality company (NASDAQ:), announced Tuesday that Vuzix has shipped a second order for smart glasses valued at more than $400,000.

Vuzix shares fell 7%.

Rochester-based company, said that the order was for large international retailer. To support its logistics and warehousing needs, they will assist the entire deployment of the equipment at the first customer facility.

Paul Travers is the president and chief executive officer of Vuzix. He stated, “Vuzix invested a fair amount time and resources honing that technology. We are now seeing growing adoption of our products by companies that allow them to operate with greater efficiency.”

Travers said, “We are happy to work with this client. It represents just one among many major retailers that have either implemented or tested our technology for logistics use.” 

Vuzix informed investors Monday it reached an agreement (NYSE: Verizon) with Verizon to offer augmented reality and mobile edge computing. Vuzix shares rose by 0.43% after the announcement.
