Apple Suspends Production at an India Foxconn Plant due to Poor Working Conditions -Breaking

Apple (NASDAQ :AAPL), a supplier of Investing.com, was given a red card by the company after it discovered deficient working conditions.
The operations of Foxconn in Sriperumbudur (India) for its iPhone product lines were suspended by the tech giant until conditions improve.
Reuters stated that there were protests in response to 250 cases of food poisoning.
Apple spokeswoman stated that they require suppliers to maintain the highest standards within the industry. The company conducts regular assessments to make sure standards are being met. “We found some remote dorm rooms and dining areas that are not meeting our requirements. We have been working with the supplier to implement an extensive set of corrective measures.”
Foxconn was plagued by worker issues in the past. In 2010, Foxconn witnessed a series of suicides, with 10 workers leaping from rooftops to escape their factories and dormitories. The plant’s management was restructured to address these concerns.
Apple shares (NASDAQ 🙂 traded slightly higher pre-market, with everyone watching how Covid-related store closings will affect the stock and whether the company can surpass the $3 trillion market cap mark. This is less than a 2 percent move.
