Investing.com — Just after noon on Thursday, cruise line stocks dropped after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that people should not travel to sea ports regardless of whether they have been immunized.

After Covid outbreaks, the CDC elevated its travel warnings to level 4, very high. This is because it has investigated nearly 100 cruise liners.

Cruise stocks fell as a result of the news. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE) shares plunged into red after the news. However, they are now sitting 0.09% above Carnival Corporation (NYSE) Corporation, which is currently trading at 0.72%. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd Stocks in (NYSE) have fallen by 1.25% Walt Disney Company (NYSE): The company, which currently has four ships under investigation by or being monitored by the CDC has yet not moved negatively on the news. Its shares traded 1% higher than Wednesday’s closing.

The CDC stated that Covid-19 could easily be spread by people living in close quarters aboard ships. There is a high chance of the virus being transmitted to ships.

According to the CDC, “It’s especially important that travelers who are more susceptible to severe illness due Covid-19 stay away from cruise ships and river cruises worldwide,”
