TeslaMore than 475,000 Model 3 or Model S electric vehicles will be recalled by the U.S. Road Safety Regulator to correct trunk problems and rearview cameras that can increase crashes.

Tesla stock fell 1.1% during premarket trades on Thursday

U.S. manufacturer of electric vehicles is recalling 356,309 Model 3 2017-2021 vehicles to correct rearview camera issues, and 119,009 Model S vehicles because of front hood problems.

Tesla sold close to half a million of these vehicles last year. Tesla was unable to be reached for comment.

The NHTSA stated that Model 3 sedans may have the rearview cable harness damaged by opening or closing the trunk lid. This would prevent the rearview image from being displayed.

Tesla stated that Model S cars may experience problems with their front hood latches, which could cause the trunk to become unintentionally open, increasing the chance of a collision.

According to NHTSA, Tesla has not been notified of any deaths, injuries, or crashes resulting from the Model 3 and Model S car issues.

NHTSA has opened an investigation into Tesla over various issues. NHTSA has opened an inquiry into Tesla 580,000 vehicles due to the company’s decision that games can be played while cars are still in motion.

According to NHTSA, Tesla agreed that it would no longer allow video games on its vehicles while they are in motion.

The NHTSA initiated a formal safety inquiry into Tesla Inc.’s driver aid system Autopilot in August after several crashes that involved emergency vehicles and Tesla models.

Tesla, under pressure by NHTSA in February, agreed to recall 135,000 vehicles equipped with touch screens that might fail or increase the chance of a crash.
