The NFT art is expected to sell for more than the entire NFT avatar collection, with only a few hours remaining before it ends.

Just two days ahead of Diogenes-Barrel’s The Message Auction on OpenSea’s closing on January 1, 2022, The Message image of poop could easily rise in price up to hundreds and millions of times depending on how much the crypto community promotes The Message.

Four bids were placed for The Message NFT Collectible at 0.105 ETH (or $190) on OpenSea’s largest NFT Marketplace, OpenSea. A first bid of 0.05 ETH, which doubled the offer set in its original form, was received before another. OpenSea provided details. Two bids totaling 0.105 ETH were later placed. Interested buyers can join in the protest as there won’t be second chances.

Diogenes Barrel shares his view on the state of digital art with others, which explains why the photo of Diogenes Barrel pooping has been widely shared across Twitter (NYSE:), and other social media channels. According to him, the value of the photo of his poo is greater than other boring and pixelated art that’s being offered for sale in different marketplaces. His decision to upload “The Message”, a 640×480 pixels photo he took in 2004 using a NOKIA 3660 (navy blue) in a public toilet of a bus station in Rybinsk, Russia, on OpenSea, was in protest.

PFP avatars have been challenged by me to sell a photo I took of my poop in Rybinsk in 2004. It was taken in the public toilet at a Rybinsk bus station. The picture is taken on a Nokia (NYSE:) 3660 (navy blue); the photo’s resolution is 640×480 pixels. This photo is more valuable than any artificially created NFT avatar collection combined.

Importantly, the creator of The Message believes talented artists must be differentiated from marketing professionals who produce thousands upon thousands of bland avatars without artistic merit. Freelancer mercenaries have been able to create thousands of artworks with predetermined scarcity, which has significantly reduced creativity.

Artists should be free and ingenious, not driven by profit, like most marketers. They can create works of art that provoke debate, and sometimes even attract criticism. He believes that real art can be created both naturally and accidental. This is why art does not have to please everyone. The NFT community feels that there should be new paths for artistic growth in order to ensure sustainability. If this is not done, the NFT industry will be ruined in the long-term by viral marketing of boring NFT products. Vitalik Buterin, a former interviewee said that NFTs need to be able to provide real-world utility in order for them survive the bear cycle.
