Palestinian rockets explode off Tel Aviv coast, military says -Breaking

JERUSALEM, (Reuters) – Palestinian militants fired two rockets at the Mediterranean Sea from Gaza on Saturday. This caused an explosion just off Tel Aviv’s shores and prompted Israeli strikes.

Hamas is the Islamist militant armed group in Gaza that controls coastal Palestinian enclave. There has been no claim by Gaza militants of any responsibility for the rocket firing. The early morning blast did not cause any injuries or property damage, according to police.

Israel’s military claimed it attacked “terrorist” targets in Gaza Strip shortly after darkness fell. Hamas Radio claimed that Israeli planes and tanks attacked some security posts as well as a training center. No immediate information was available about casualties.

Hamas sometimes tested fired rockets that were launched toward the sea. Paltimes news site, which is affiliated with Hamas said that launch occurred due to an error.

Since May’s 11-day conflict, the border between Israel and Gaza has been quiet. Three Palestinians were wounded by gunfire coming from Gaza on Wednesday.
