OSLO (Reuters) – Last year, almost all three of the new Norwegian automobiles were powered by batteries. This made Texas-based Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) Inc. the number one selling brand.

Norway, an oil producer, exempts rivals with internal combusion engines (ICE) (NYSE :)).) in order to make Norway the first country to stop selling petrol and diesel vehicles by 2025.

Tesla took 11.5% of all the car market. It was the #1 brand in the world for the first year, ahead Germany’s Volkswagen with 9.4%.

According to Wall Street, Sunday’s record quarter-end deliveries by the U.S. automaker surpassed Wall Street estimates. This was due in large part to global chip shortages that it exacerbated with increased China production.

The Tesla Model 3 was ahead of Toyota’s hybrid Rav4, which is the only car in the top 10 with an internal combustion engine. Volkswagen’s electric ID.4 came third.
