Indonesia 2021 budget deficit seen at 4.65% of GDP, well below estimates -Breaking

REUTERS/BeawihartaJAKARTA (Reuters – Indonesia posted a budget deficit last year of 4.65% gross domestic product. However, this was “far less” than initially estimated, because revenues were higher than their target. Sri Mulyani indrawati, the finance minister said on Monday.
She said that the government had collected 2,003.1 trillion rupees ($140.43 million) while expenditure reached 2,786.8 billion rupees. Sri Mulyani stated that tax revenues in 2019 were 13% higher than 2020, and 104% more than the goal.
In 2021, the budget was originally created by government with a 5.7% deficit estimation.
