(Corrects Soleimani’s murder, paragraph 2)

JERUSALEM (Reuters] – Israel’s Jerusalem Post reported on Monday that the website of its newspaper had been hacked. It claimed it was a threat to Israel.

The website displayed an illustration instead of the main news page. It seemed to be recalling Qassem Soleimani (top Iranian general), who was killed in a U.S.-led drone strike on Iraq in 2019.

Illustration showed a round-shaped bullet shooting from a red ring on the finger. This was an obvious reference to the distinctive Soleimani ring.

The Jerusalem Post (an English-language daily) tweeted its determination to solve the problem.

“We are aware about the hacking apparent on our website.

Along with a direct menace (to Israel), it stated.

The mobile app was not affected and all major Israeli news sites were functioning normally.
