China Evergrande says contracted sales dropped 38.7% in 2021

BEIJING — Indebted property developer China EvergrandeLast year, contracted sales fell as the real-estate giant tried to pay creditors.

The company filed Tuesday showing that its contracted sales of property properties were at 443.02 trillion yuan ($69.22 million) last year. This is down 38.7% compared to the 723.25 Billion yuan contracted sales for 2020.

According to the filing Evergrande claimed it filed for shares in Hong Kong to resume trading at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Trading was stopped at 9 AM Monday.

According to the company, it will continue to maintain active communication with creditors as well to seek to address risks and protect legitimate rights and interests for all.
