U.S. counts over 1 million new daily Covid cases in global record

On Monday, the United States reported an unprecedented number of Covid cases. This included more than one million new infections.
There were 1,082,549 cases of coronavirus in total reported Monday according to data from Johns Hopkins UniversityThe highly infectious variant of omicron continues to be spread across the country.
New U.S. Covid cases averaged 363,592 new cases per day at 6 a.m. on a 7-day basis. ET Monday, JHU data shows.
This new daily count brings to 55.689,547 the number of confirmed cases in the United States since the outbreak of the pandemic. The virus has claimed 827,748 lives across the nation.
JHU dataIt was found that states such as Maryland, Alabama, Delaware and New Jersey have the highest proportion of newly confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
