STOCKHOLM, (Reuters) – Volvo Car Group appointed Jim Rowan to replace Hakan Samuelsson as chief executive in March. It announced Tuesday.

Rowan is currently the CEO of Ember Technologies in America and will take over as CEO after Volvo’s IPO last year, which was the largest European IPO.

Volvo stated that Samuelsson would continue in the same role as Rowan until March. While he will be leaving Volvo Car’s board of directors, he will continue to serve as Chairman at Polestar electric vehicle manufacturer.
