Former BMW employee charged with 18 counts of corruption

REUTERS/Wolfgang RattayBERLIN (Reuters), – A former BMW senior executive was charged with corruption and defrauding the German automaker of millions. German magazine WirtschaftsWoche reported.
WirtschaftsWoche reports that the man has been charged with 18 counts for commercial corruption as well 33 for breaching trust at BMW’s expense.
BMW couldn’t be reached immediately for comment. BMW suffered damages worth 2.7million euros (3.06 million) according to the Munich court.
In exchange for contract awarding, the former employee received kickbacks totalling 2.4 millions euros between 2007-2015.
The total number of people charged includes the managing director and the CEO of the insolvent consulting firm.
The spokesperson for the court stated that all five of them deny these charges.
