(Reuters] – General Motors Co. (NYSE:) aims at introducing a “personal autonomic vehicle” within the next decade. Chief Executive Mary Barra stated Wednesday.

Barra stated that the self-driving car for personal use was being developed in collaboration with GM’s Cruise. This statement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Barra stated that GM’s growing portfolio of electric cars, which includes the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and the BrightDrop range of commercial vehicles, also include two new Chevrolet crossovers: a $30,000 Equinox EV as well as a Blazer EV. Both will be available in 2023.

GM’s Ultra Cruise hands-free driving technology will debut on a new EV in 2023, the Cadillac Celestiq ultraluxury sedan. Barra stated that Ultra Cruise will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride platform to provide advanced driver assistance.

Cadillac’s two futuristic designs, which included a flying car, raised eyebrows at last year’s CES. Barra presented the InnerSpace concept of a Cadillac, a two-passenger, self-driving luxury coupe.

The OpenSpace was a fourth Cadillac concept teased by GM insiders as “vision for next decade and beyond”. An insider at GM described the OpenSpace as a luxurious hotel room with wheels.
