Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The NSE closed with an additional 0.67%, aiming to reach a new one-month high. Meanwhile, the index rose 0.61%.

These were the worst performers of the session. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:), fell 2.92%, or 52.25 Points to trade at 1737.55 after the close. Infosys Ltd (NS: ) dropped 2.87% or 54.50 to close at 1844.65 HCL Technologies Ltd (NS.:) fell 1.70% to 1310.75, or 22.70 Points.

Bajaj Finserv Ltd. rose 5.09%, to 17983.00. Bajaj Finance Ltd. was up 4.44% to settle to 7668.55. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. gained 3.70%, to close to 1921.65.

Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 2.87% to $173.05 in late trading. Infosys Ltd. (BO) lost 2.71% and settled at 1844.95. HCL Technologies Ltd. (BO) was also down 1.69% at 1311.40.

Indian National Stock Exchange: Rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 922 to 868. 29 ended unchanged. Bombay Stock Exchange: 1748 rose, 1524 fell, while 94 was unchanged.

For February delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.24% to $1818.95 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.12% or 0.12 in February to reach $76.87 per barrel. The March Brent oil contract dropped 0.08%, or 0.06, to trade at $79.94 per barrel.

USD/INR fell 0.17% at 74.372 while EUR/INR rose 0.6% to 84.1260.

At 96.110, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.17%.
