MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Grupo Aeromexico’s passenger traffic in December rose to its highest point since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mexican airline announced this Thursday.

Aeromexico moved 1.74 Million passengers in December 2019 or 98.9%, according to the statement.

Aeromexico said that the total offer was equivalent to 82.6% capacity in December 2019.

Domestic capacity rose 13.6% in December 2019, but international capacity increased 70.7%.

Aeromexico applied for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year in the United States. In December, it revealed details about a tender offer. The restructured shares were valued at close to zero. This triggered a stock sell-off.
