Bentley cruised to record year in 2021 with luxury cars in high demand -Breaking

LONDON, (Reuters) – Luxury British carmaker Bentley surpassed all expectations in 2021 thanks to a 31% increase in global sales and strong demand for luxury vehicles.

Bentley reported that its sales increased to 14,659 units in 2020 from 11,206. This was a record year, despite the shutdowns caused worldwide by the coronavirus pandemic.

Global pandemic restrictions that have restricted travel to areas like China have led to a greater number of luxury and premium car sales.

Bentley reported that sales in Americas rose by 39% and China increased 40% last year, accounting for almost 60% of total sales.

“2021 was another year full of uncertainties, but I’m happy to say that we have overcome significant headwinds to deliver an unprecedented sales performance,” said Bentley Chief Executive Adrian Hallmark in a statement.

Bentley’s luxury SUV Bentayga, priced at around 150,000 Pounds ($203,000), was still the top-selling model. Sales were boosted by the introduction of a hybrid version.

This luxury vehicle manufacturer has made a commitment to becoming fully electric by 2030.
