WASHINGTON (Reuters). Apparently, U.S. vice president Kamala Harris was in Washington at Democratic committee headquarters on January 6, 2021, when a pipe-bomb was discovered outdoors, according an official from the White House.

Harris, then the vice president elect and senator of California, fled the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters at Capitol Hill, after law enforcement officers had discovered the device. The official spoke on condition that he remain anonymous.

Harris was protected by the U.S. Secret Service. The Secret Service did not respond immediately to our request for comment.

The FBI is currently searching for the identity of a man wearing a grey hooded shirt and who planted explosives near a DNC park bench as well as another one in the alleyway behind RNC headquarters. Officials believe the devices were set up on Tuesday night.

Their discovery came on the same day as supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in an attempt https://www.reuters.com/world/us/biden-call-trump-threat-democracy-us-capitol-attack-anniversary-2022-01-06 to overturn the Nov. 3, 2020, election of Joe Biden and Harris.

Harris, Biden, and other legislators observed the occasion with speeches at Capitol on Thursday.
