Walgreens Boots (NASDAQ 🙂 announced Thursday the results of its first quarter. They beat analyst forecasts, and reported revenue that exceeded expectations.

Walgreens Boots reported earnings per share at $1.68 for revenue of $33.9B. Investing.com polled analyst to predict EPS at $1.35 on revenues of $32.46B.

Walgreens Boots shares have risen 3.53% since the start of the year. However, they are still down 5.33% from their 52-week high of $57.04 on April 6, 2021. They have outperformed the industry, down by 3.36% over the same period.

Walgreens Boots joins other Consumer Staples major earnings this month

Walgreens Boots reported on Costco’s December 9 earnings beat. Costco reports EPS for $50.36B on revenue, but forecasts are $2.62 per share on revenues of $49.65B.

General Mills disappointed with its second quarter earnings per share (EPS) of $0.99 on $5.02B in revenue, as compared to the forecast of $1.05 for revenue of $4.84B.
