Apple’s Tim Cook paid over 1,400 times the average worker in 2021 -Breaking

(Reuters) – Apple Inc (NASDAQ) CEO Tim Cook earned 1,447x the salary of an average employee in 2021, according to a Thursday filing. https:// was fueled by stock options that allowed him to earn a total amount of almost $100 million.

Apple stated that the 2021 median salary for employees was $68,254, adding that it had chosen a median employee to compare with changes in compensation and hiring.

The 2020 median income was $57,783 while the ratio of pay was 256.

As more people work from their homes, the iPhone manufacturer has seen a strong demand over two years for its products. Apple revenues rose by 30% to $365.82Billion for fiscal 2021. That boosted Apple’s shares to just over $3Tillion this year.

Cook received an $82.3million stock award, $12 Million for Apple’s success and $1.4M for airline travel, 401K plan, premiums and other benefits.

His total compensation was $98.7 million, as compared to $14.8million in 2020.

After the death of Steve Jobs, Apple’s founder in July 2011, Cook assumed control. Apple shares have risen more than 1000% over the years.

Cook was granted 333,987 stock units in September as part of his new long-term equity program. Cook will be eligible for additional units depending on his performance in 2023.
