Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

Paris closed with the index falling 0.42% and the decline of the 0.42%.

STMicroelectronics Nv (PA:), up 3.45% or 1.48 point to trade at 44.38, were the top performers during the session. ArcelorMittal SA (+3.40%) gained 1.00 points to finish at 30.52, while Veolia Environnement VE SA (+PA:) gained 2.60% (0.84 points) until 33.17.

These were the worst performers of the session. Hermes International SCA, which declined 3.82% or 56.50 points to trade at 1447.00 by the close. EssilorLuxottica SA(PA:), which fell 3.05%, or 5.58 points, to close at 177.16 Pernod Ricard SA (PA) fell 2.35%, or 4.90 points, to 203.50.

These were the top performers on SBF 120 Trigano SA (PA) rose 5.83% at 183.40. STMicroelectronics N (PA) was up 3.45% at 44.38. ArcelorMittal SA climbed 3.40% at close at 30.52.

Ovh Groupe SAS was the worst performer (PA.:) and Hermes Inter SCA (PA.:) were both down 4.24% to 23.95 late trade. Euronext (PA:), which fell 3.11% to 85.80 by the end.

The Paris Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing stock by 291 to 288 while 86 ended the same.

Veolia Environnement VE SA’s shares rose by 2.60% (or 0.84) to a 5-year peak; increasing 2.60% to 33.17.

The February delivery of Gold Futures was higher by 0.38%, or 6.75, to $1795.95 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.71 percent to $78.75 per barrel in February. The March Brent oil contract dropped 0.35 percent to $81.64 per barrel.

EUR/USD rose by 0.58%, to 1.1357. EUR/GBP climbed 0.266% to 0.8364.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.56 at 95.785
