REUTERS/Matt Mills McKnightWASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld a shareholder lawsuit that was filed against Boeing (NYSE) Co in 2019. It had been brought by Boeing shareholders after 2 fatal 737 MAX crash deaths. These crashes resulted in 346 deaths over a 5-month period.
Seafarers Pension Plan sued Boeing for making misleading and false public statements regarding the 737 MAX in proxy material.
U.S. District Court judges had dismissed the case, applying the Boeing Bylaw giving the company the right of insisting that they be filed in Delaware. U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit reversed the decision of the lower court.
